Recommendation & Conclusion

 

    The overall recommendation for our company, at Noches de Colombia would be to work on a way to become more environmentally friendly, lean, and sustainable. The way our company functions now is already moving towards that direction, however we can and should take more steps to reduce our overall carbon footprint and help the environment. The biggest way we can do this is to begin composting and growing some of our own fruits and vegetables. This would greatly help reduce costs, and help the environment. By doing this we would reduce the number of trips needed to go pick up groceries, saving on gas and cutting our carbon footprint down. Our main goal would be to try and cut the number of trips to the produce markets in half. This company has so many ways that we can target the triple bottom line and this is just one of many, and is perhaps the easiest.

Lessons Learned

 

Over the course of the project our group learned a lot about how managing a company through operations can help our companies grow and become more successful.

1. We learned about how becoming more sustainable and lean can help the company save the environment while saving their pockets. We learned about techniques throughout the textbook that helped us see ways to make this happen.
2. We have learned a great deal about project management through the textbook and lectures. This project helped us see first hand exactly how to manage a project properly and effectively.
